A newsletter is a wonderful tool for storytelling and community-building. It’s a place where longer-format content is accepted and often appreciated. A good newsletter has your customers eagerly awaiting its arrival, and engaging with the content in it. It’s a wonderful middle-of-the-funnel tool to direct people back to your website and to help them get to know your brand.

I can help you launch or re-launch your newsletter with a look and feel that is consistent with your brand identity and speaks to your target market. I recently helped a nonprofit re-launch their newsletter and grow the readership by 40% in less than a year.

A podcast is quite possibly the most intimate way to connect with your customers. People feel a personal connection to podcasts because you are speaking directly to them through their AirPods Pro while they tweeze their eyebrows in the mirror. What could be more personal than that?

A podcast is also a great way to create engaging content that can be re-purposed across social channels. Clips from recorded podcasts perform very well on platforms like Instagram and TikTok.

At Far Away Projects, I worked with a team of three other people to storyboard, record, produce and market a podcast called Far Away Radio. In under a year we gained listenership in 20 countries.

Copy Sample from a newsletter about a nonprofit project:

2,700 miles, 71 days, all alone crossing the Pacific in a rowboat. This was Tez Steinberg’s first United World Challenge, rowing from California to Hawaii in the summer of 2020. Now, he’s about to row even farther and for a greater impact.

In the summer of 2020 Tez Steinberg solo-rowed 2,700 miles from California to Hawaii in a 23-foot boat with no prior rowing experience, no support boat, and no resupply. All alone for 71 days. Together with his land-based team, he shared the story of his 71-day saga and inspired followers to donate $77,000 to scholarships for peace and global awareness about ocean conservation. While at sea, he gathered data for microplastic research with partners at Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Through the Challenge’s partnership with Ocean Bottle, Tez helped fund the collection of 5,000 pounds of ocean-bound plastic. He called this expedition the United World Challenge, a project that is now fiscally sponsored by Far Away Projects.

This November, Tez gets back in his seven-meter boat to cross the rest of the Pacific…

Ever since picking up a camera at sixteen years old, I’ve been in love with visual storytelling. I’ve shot for makeup and clothing brands, restaurants, and individuals. Each time my main goal is to communicate the essence of their brand through my photos.

Having a consistent and high quality visual identity is so important in this digital age where customers are primarily interacting with your business online. Photos can show off your products or services, but they can also communicate who you are as a brand.
